Summer activities in Upstate NY

Posted on Updated on

Summer is here, get your flip flops on and enjoy the outdoor activities!!

Whether hiking, swimming, kayaking, camping, biking or fishing… this is the time to get out there and enjoy the outdoors.

In the Rochester area there are so many wonderful outdoor places to visit, the above photo is at the Webster Arboretum located at 1700 Schlegel Road, Webster, NY 14580.  It is a great place to go if you want to be outside but not in a crowded place… quiet, beautiful and fun for kids!  This is also a great time for berry picking, if you’re looking for strawberries, check out the You Pick at G&S Orchards in Walworth, NY or Baumans Farm Market in Webster, NY.  If you’re looking for cherry picking, Shutt’s Apple Mill on Plank Road in Webster, NY is wonderful!

Be sure to keep the Sodus Bay 4th of July Extravaganza in mind if you live in Monroe or Wayne county!  The events take place July 3rd (fireworks) and July 4th (road race, arts and crafts show, concert at the lighthouse, etc.)- it’s a fun place to be for the holiday.  I will be at the arts and craft show with my hand-made sterling silver jewelry!!  I hope to see you there.  Betsy ~ Sunshine On Water
