Tie Dye Shirt

This was a tie dye shirt I made recently- a blue and green spiral shirt in youth small.   This is the second shirt I made… I misted the first shirt with too much water which made the colors run together badly.  I did save the first shirt but, yes,  I am picky and like the colors to stand alone!!   Some people don’t mind the colors running together between each spiral but I don’t love it…which is why I made a second!

The more water you mist on the shirt the more the colors will bleed as the shirt sits with the dye on it.  On the other hand you don’t want too little water on the shirt or the colors won’t seep thru the cotton enough…. the KEY is just the right amount of misting with a good water bottle.  You can’t go back and change the colors once you apply them so be sure your shirt is properly prepped before applying the dye to it!

Also, be sure you use 100% cotton fabric when tie dying… it absorbs the color really well compared to synthetic fabrics.

🙂  If you are interested in a custom order let me know!  🙂
